Well, over at Brady landfill, the mountains are so tall
The mountains of lumber, and they plan to chip it all.
In the broken down Wood Wolf I am always on call
Cuz I don't wanna buy no wood at the shopping mall
Compost bins and fences, hydro poles at the mill
He was workin just as hard as he could to keep wood out of the landfill.
In all kinds of weather, from dawn until sundown,
Shaun Murphy pulled them pallets til the man came around.
Lex and Dave and I and so many others besides
We'd hop into that rusty truck and we'd go for a ride
'Let me teach you what I know' Shaun would say with a smile.
'But you can't fly on just one wing , so let's sit here for awhile'
He got himself a son named Ben, turned six the other day.
Going to work with Daddy was a game he loved to play.
With his hammer and safety glasses for to protect his eyes;
Building besides his daddy, so strong and so wise.
Well down at Art City, the pride of the West End,
Shaun Murphy, he met Becky and soon they were best friends.
He called me up so happy, said 'I can't believe my luck,
Gonna take for a dump run in my big white truck.'
A great big heart and strong, strong hands, hard work for little pay.
He talked the talk and he walked the walk-you could see it everyday.
Now he's laid himself down to rest, and he's left us here to cry;
But his spirit, it still lingers on in that recycled lumber pile.
Well, over at Brady landfill, the mountains are so tall.
The mountains of lumber and they plan to chip it all.
In the broken down Wood Wolf I am always on call;
Cuz I ain't never gonna buy no would at the shopping mall.

Shaun's Obituary
Shaun Christopher Murphy, son of Brian and Carol Murphy passed away suddenly on May 6, 2008 at his home in Winnipeg.
Shaun was born on October 25, 1974 in Winnipeg, MB. He graduated from Silver Heights in 1992. Most of his life was spent in Winnipeg, although his adventurous spirit took him east and west and across Canada several times.
